SHINGLES
Roof Shingles
Cedar Shingles are a great environmentally friendly alternative to traditional roofing shingle materials.
Not only do wooden shingles give your house a unique traditional look, they have a range of advantages too.
Cedar Shingles have one of the lowest carbon footprints of any building products because they are supplied from sustainable sources and are a bi-product created from the material that remains once logs have been processed at mills. This means that very little extra energy is used to create them.
Cedar Shingles also have a higher R value than other roofing materials and up to double that of traditional bitumen.
This means that is naturally a better insulator than other roofing materials, keeping buildings warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
Cedar wood has a life span of around 50 years or more and is also naturally resilient to decay and insect attack due to naturally occuring oils in the wood.
